Contract AP Specialist - Part-time

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist for a 6-month part-time contract to support our finance team during a period of increased workload. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, dependable, and experienced in full-cycle AP within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner

  • Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

  • Prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, checks, wires)

  • Maintain AP files and documentation for auditing purposes

  • Assist with month-end close, including accruals and AP aging review

  • Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and account questions

  • Support the finance team with additional AP and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience required

  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and AP processes

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar)

  • Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables preferred)

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
