Overview
The Private Wealth division is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking leader to oversee Client Billing and Production Compensation across a business managing more than $80B in assets. This role blends operational ownership with strategic influence, requiring a professional who can maintain rigorous accuracy while driving enhancements that support scale, efficiency, and growth. The ideal individual brings deep private wealth expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and a proven track record of guiding change and working effectively across multiple functions. Partnerships with senior Private Wealth leadership, Payroll, Fund Administration, Legal, Operations, Technology, and other stakeholders will be essential.

Primary Responsibilities Client Billing Operations
  • Manage the full client billing cycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and thorough oversight of calculations, collections, and invoices.

  • Lead quarterly Investment Advisory fee billing, including complex exception management, root-cause analysis, and ongoing process optimization.

  • Oversee receivables, payment application, and custodian reconciliations to accelerate collections and resolve outstanding issues.

  • Coordinate with the Controller team on month-end close to ensure precise revenue and balance sheet reconciliation.

  • Partner with Private Wealth leadership to develop and implement updated pricing structures.

  • Handle all ad-hoc billing analyses, special projects, and reporting, providing insights that inform senior leadership decisions.

Compensation Management
  • Direct the monthly compensation process for production-based Private Wealth teams with a focus on accuracy and operational excellence.

  • Manage monthly close activities related to compensation, including P&L variance reviews and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Collaborate with leadership to create and roll out new compensation frameworks.

  • Prepare customized, data-driven analyses in support of evolving business priorities and executive decision-making.

Process Improvement & Technology Enablement
  • Drive adoption of innovative tools-including analytics, AI, and automation-to enhance operational efficiency and transparency.

  • Lead the development, testing, and implementation of new technology and automation initiatives in partnership with Data Analytics and Solutions teams.

  • Document, communicate, and implement process updates to ensure strong user engagement and operational continuity.

Collaboration & Engagement
  • Build strong, productive relationships with leaders across Private Wealth, HCM, Technology, Legal, and Operations to implement billing and compensation policies and resolve issues.

  • Translate complex operational and analytical concepts into clear communication suitable for a range of audiences.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across teams.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline.

  • 8-12 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, client billing, sales compensation, or financial analysis-ideally within private wealth or asset management.

  • Demonstrated experience driving change management and process transformation.

  • Proven ability to lead teams and align stakeholders toward shared strategic objectives.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Skills
  • Background in private wealth, asset management, or investment advisory services.

  • Experience with commission-based compensation processes and associated financial systems.

  • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics tools supporting automation and process redesign.

  • Knowledge of SAP.

  • Strategic, creative thinking combined with collaborative problem-solving ability.

  • Ability to quickly master and explain complex operational processes.
