Your Impact:

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) business unit within Core Engineering is looking for a Security Software Engineer. The Security Software Engineer will contribute to core platforms that support the firm's security and operational requirements for its' global technology infrastructure. The IAM team builds and operates the firm's authentication, authorization, identity, and secrets management services that are used by every single GS application. You will coordinate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, understand requirements, and implement features that enable adoption of our services. After you're ramped up, you'll also join our on-call rotation to support our production environments.

How You will Fulfill your Potential:



  • Implement new features in our Automated Certificate Management platform by building integrations to a growing list of supported endpoints.
  • Provision and manage complex poly-cloud infrastructure and resources using GS build tools and processes.
  • Become a Certificate subject matter expert and a trusted consultant to other GS engineering and business teams.


Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java, Python, or C#
  • Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or AWS CDK
  • Experience with Linux basics (navigate the filesystem, search log files, etc.)
  • Team player, eager to work in a global organization
  • Commercially focused; seeks to understand the requirements and how they will benefit our clients, stakeholders, and business
  • Strong oral and written communication skills


Bonus points if you have experience with:



  • Object Oriented Programming and dependency injection frameworks like Spring
  • PKI, X509 Certificates, TLS, or Applied Cryptography and associated AWS technologies like Private CA, Certificate Manager, Secrets Manager, IAM
  • AWS Cloud Development Kit and building custom CDK constructs
  • Containerization technologies like Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, etc.
