Classified Material Control Specialist

The Security Department at Leidos has an opening in the Classified Material Control Department in our Huntsville, AL office. This is an exciting opportunity to use and/or develop your skills in document control to ensure security guidance to all our programs across the company.

Primary Responsibilities

Daily responsibility include but not limited:

• Identifying and controlling production items
• Conduct audits and self-inspections
• Responsible for providing document control services for multiple locations in the Huntsville, AL area
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Customer service oriented with strong communication skills
• Support all aspects of document control including SIMS database, processing incoming and outgoing classified material, inventory, and supporting the ISSM/ISSOs
• Provide day-to-day document control security support to multiple classified programs
• Interface with external/internal customers to provide required documentation and proper security classifications in compliance in accordance with the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM)
• Support internal customers with marking and controlling classified information
• Conduct closed work area security procedures (opening and closing areas, alarm response, security moves, and other duties as assigned) and properly handle classified material (receipt, transmittal, sign in/out, filing, wrapping, marking, destruction, distribution, courier, and various products and materials)
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Company, and the external security professionals
• Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment
• Other duties will be performed as necessary, and some possible travel and overtime required.

Basic Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma and 3 - 5 years of prior relevant experience
• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
• Ability to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl for long periods throughout the workday
• Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs for long periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with SIMS or databases
• Ability to pay close attention to details
