Position Summary:
The Research Analyst
will conduct engineering designs and economic assessment of projects led by the
CNR and assist the Director of the CNR in the implementation. The RA will use engineering and economic data
to conduct Benefit Cost Analysis of projects and communicate the findings
through reports of various levels of detail.

Essential Functions:
-
Use
GIS and update the files based on field data.
- Interact
with hydraulic engineers to better understand the options available for a
particular project.
- Write
interim and final reports regarding the project that they are managing.
- Assist
the Center Director in writing proposals related to civil engineering and in
particular flooding.
- Conduct
Benefit Cost Analyses based on guidelines provided by funding agencies. Provide the results in an easy format for
the community to understand.
- Plan
and schedule meetings related to the project that they are leading, manage
communications.
- Place
orders for material needed for the project.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in
Civil Engineering and knowledge of project management and/or costing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Suite.
- Proficiency in budgeting. In reading
budget forms obtained from various entities.
- Ability to work independently from
the Center Director, and to communicate effectively using emails.
- Effective
communication and writing skills.
- At the university's discretion, the education and
experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to
the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and
experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
