City/State Suffolk, VA Overview Work Shift First (Days) (United States of America) Velocity Urgent Care (now solely owned by Sentara Health) is actively looking for qualified Medical Assistants. As aMedical Assistantwith Velocity, you will work directly with a Provider conducting phlebotomy (lab), clinical and clerical duties. This position's primary responsibilities include bringing the patients into rooms, taking vitals, verifying patient information, and preparing them for the Provider. Required to work every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 8am-4pm. Qualifications: * Minimum of three years experience in a healthcare setting or one year experience as an EMT, Paramedic, and/or Corpsman preferred. * Phlebotomy experience preferred, plus experience with electronic medical records. * Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant or certified EMT-B required. * Existing Medical Assistants hired prior to 12/1/14 may obtain the Cert MA or Reg MA certification or obtain the Assessment Based Recognition Order Entry (ABR-OE) prior to 6/30/15. Job Summary The Clinical Team Lead collaborates with the Assistant Practice Manager and the Practice Manager to ensure the efficient and effective clinical operations of a practice. Assumes responsibility and accountability for daily clinical operations. Supports employees with solutions for everyday operational needs. Manage multiple projects and performs special work assignments as needed. Support Assistant Practice Manager, Practice Manager, Director and other leadership team members as needed. Collaborate with cross-departmental/divisional teams to achieve goals. Takes initiative and implements new processes independently. Acts as a role model for the clinical team and subject matter expert in clinical areas.
