Reports to: Program Manager
FLSA: Full-time Salary Exempt
Primary Work Location: HQ Orlando, FL

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Information Systems Engineer IV leads contractor-related efforts and provides expert consultation in the translation of business requirements into IT requirements, designs, and acquisition packages. Provides in-depth engineering analysis of IT alternatives for the U.S. DoD in support of strategic modernization efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES


  • Provide telecommunications enhancement designs for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures.
  • Provide interface support to IT end users, DoD IT service provider personnel, and program management offices.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering and scientific principles, computer technologies, and human cognition to design, implement and manage information systems.
  • Design and develop databases, develop system architectures, establish system standards, integrate an information system with varied data sources and networks, and generally to plan, integrate, design, test or operate information systems.
  • Manage information systems and computer systems professionals directly or through subordinate managers/supervisors in design and operations of information systems.
  • Manage the development and production of policies and procedures and ensure their conformance with the department's goals and company/customer objectives.
  • Manage the development and administration of schedule and performance requirements, including budget responsibilities.
  • Manage and establish priorities for information system's needs, analyzes project costs and feasibility.
  • Keep well-informed of new technologies and industry best practices and trends and then plans and advises for implementation.
  • Oversee process to meet objectives effectively and economically on schedule.
  • Manage sub relationships and billing reconciliations, as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and solutions to ensure the information systems needs align with the strategic stakeholder's initiatives and objectives.
  • Manage or supervise a medium to large team or department of multiple disciplines. Medium to High Complexity.
  • Travel may be required (Up to 20%) to both State side and Overseas locations.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, or electronics engineering (or closely related curriculum) from ABET accredited institutions.
  • 15+ years' experience in Information Systems design and operation
  • 2 or more information technologies certifications in: Systems and network administration, Automation hardware, Operating Systems, Automation Security Systems, Decision Support Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems, Server Virtualization, Videoconferencing, Fiber Optic Cabling, Audio / Visual Systems, Network and Systems Management and Control, Media Access / Digital Interfaces, Software Applications, Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP), System and/or Network Protocols
  • IAT/IAM Level I Certification
  • Autodesk AutoCAD and Microsoft Survey
  • Air Magnet
  • Expert in Microsoft products including Microsoft Office and Visio
  • Must be available to travel as required.
  • Works well with others.


PREFERRED SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE


  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project
  • A Department of Defense Clearance is not required for this role but would benefit future positions.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


  • Work is performed in a multiplex/hospital environment.
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds and walk short distances.
  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders pursuant to placing/installing wireless appliance on walls and in ceilings.
  • Repetitive motion.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing: viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading.
