We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr Mgr Financial Reporting (Hybrid) on our Insurance - Finance team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.
As a Sr Mgr Financial Reporting, you will manage and/or perform
all financial reporting functions associated with planning and operational
analyses to improve the financial effectiveness of the Association and
affiliate entities. You will be responsible for the annual and capital and operating budget
process. Monitor, review, analyze events affecting operations; develop
relationships with various operating units to understand the events and provide
financial counseling. Perform and/or review statistical and financial analysis
of reports and data and prepares subsequent analysis for management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Manage and direct the monthly/annual financial close; develop and implement procedures and policies, analyze financial data and trends, perform variance analysis on financial statements
- Review and/or prepare the monthly/annual Blackline reconciliations for completeness and accuracy in compliance with AMA policies, provide feedback and coaching to preparers
- Coordinate annual financial audit with external auditors, providing information/reports, answering questions; support multiple carrier audits throughout the year providing information on payments and/or processes
- Prepare and lead the monthly financial review for the Affinity business
Treasury / Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
- Manage Agency Treasury function; including ensuring all controls are met for both payments and receipts; additionally, manage account reconciliations, approve payments (both wires / ACH), and develop relationships with key external partners
- Manage the entire accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for the Agency, ensuring all policies are adhered to and identify/implement process improvements opportunities
- Manage Affinity quarterly invoicing and collection process, coordinating with Affinity leadership and external partners
- Develop, implement and manage the invoicing, collections, and reconciliation process for $5m Med Plus Advantage program, coordinating efforts with marketing, carrier partners, and external brokers
Financial Systems / Operations
- Manage the financial aspects/controls for AMAI's policy administration system, this includes both the set-up and on-going support; coordinating across multiple departments and vendors as needed
- Provide guidance/support to the financial operations team, specifically identifying and implementing process efficiencies and controls as needed
- Agency lead/expert on all corporate financial systems; coordinate with AMA finance staff on system changes, training, etc.
People Management
- Lead, mentor, and provide management oversight for professional staff; set objectives, evaluate performance, and develop staff Identify
opportunities for advancing staff skills and expertise

REQUIREMENTS:
- Expert analytical skills and proficiency in
U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting
Standards Board (FASB) rules and standards. - Polished communication, both verbal and
written; strong presentation skills required. - Demonstrated proficiency of managerial skills
including delegation, staff development and feedback. - Demonstrated proficiency with state-of-the-art
computer software and financial systems; strong financial systems background
required. - Strong planning and organizing skills
required; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. - Demonstrated ability to prepare and review
complex analyses of financial information and meet frequent reporting
deadlines. - Excellent interpersonal skills to build
relationships both cross-functionally and with senior leadership.

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $104,872-$138,737. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
