The incumbent will utilize the nursing process to assess and identify the individual needs of Parnassus Neurosurgery non-surgical and surgical patients and navigate them through surgical preparation on what the patient should expect pre-operatively and post-operatively. The incumbent's primary role will be to provide clinical support to all neurosurgery patients and physicians at the Parnassus neurosurgery clinic. This individual supports the standards of the policies and procedures of the Neurosurgery Faculty Practice and is responsible for compliance with all UCSF Ambulatory Services and Medical Center policies and procedures for infection control, safety, administrative and clinical practice. Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Two years or more recent related RN experience within the last five years in Neurosciences, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, direct patient care of General Neurosurgery patients * Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in neurosurgical nursing * This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATION * Three (3) years or more of RN clinical experience in-patient neurosurgery * Three years or more of RN experience with Stroke patients * CCRN Certification (Critical Care Registered Nurse) * Bachelor of Science in Nursing REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS * Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California * Current American Heart Association CPR Certification REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Two years or more recent related RN experience within the last five years in Neurosciences, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, direct patient care of General Neurosurgery patients * Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in neurosurgical nursing * This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
