| Position Purpose |
Responsible for the successful build of the Dartmouth Night bonfire. The Build Leader teaches and oversees student bonfire build volunteers. |
| Required Qualifications |
- Ability to prioritize and manage details of the build process
- Solid understanding of construction processes
- Excellent attention to detail
- Be available the week of the build (including irregular hours) as students will volunteer when their time allows
- Patient and prepared to teach the students how to build the structure
- Demonstrated experience teaching hands-on skills
- Must be able to lift and carry 70 pounds
- Must be able to climb ladders and spend long periods of time working on uneven surfaces above the ground

Key Accountabilities

- Use the Bonfire Construction Guide as a base for the build process. Integrate updates as outlined by staff and cleared with the designer
- Personally lay out first levels of the bonfire structure
- Be onsite during scheduled build hours
- Communicate with EHS regarding safety protocols
- Communicate with Buildings and Grounds regarding support of the Lull operator
- Train students, including but not limited to: situational awareness, onsite safety, use of tools, construction practices outlined in Guide
- Ensure students are following required plans and protocols
- Preparation of bonfire lighting
