General Purpose

The Personal Banking Representative (PBR) I is an entry-level position that provides support to bank clients, assists with account management, check processing, and other transactions, as well as promoting best-fit products and services to bank clients.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Practices exceptional service with customers using available training programs and measurement tools (ie. Alpine Way/CARE/Mystery Shops standards).
  • Uses numerous software applications to perform daily tasks with minimal errors.
  • Utilizes CARE to provide exceptional customer service while opening, closing, and maintaining consumer and commercial bank accounts for Alpine Bank customers.
  • Acts as a first point of contact for customers, and manages recommendations of products, or refers customers to other areas of the bank.
  • Opens and maintains consumer and commercial bank accounts for Alpine Bank customers.
  • Assists and educates customers on Alpine Online services, such as, but not limited to, Bill Pay, Bank-to-Bank and Person-to-Person transfers, Card Services, and basic Commercial Banking Services.
  • Accurately processes deposits, transfers, withdrawals, and other transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assists with balancing cash drawer, vault, and/or ATM settlement.
  • Performs safe deposit box entry and exit functions for customers.
  • Adheres to strict policies and procedures for wires and safe deposit boxes.
  • Generates correspondence to secure additional customer information to resolve customer concerns.
  • Supports in open/closing procedures as needed.
  • Composes and submits proper business correspondence, including, but not limited to, letters and electronic mail, to internal and external customers.
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:



  • A customer service-oriented individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Utilizes strong communication skills to mediate conflict resolution.
  • Sufficient problem solving and analytical ability.
  • Good time management skills, managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong mathematical and cash handling skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Exhibits exceptional organizational skills and maintains detailed files and notes for documentation as necessary.
  • Strong understanding and application of banking compliance regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge in basic fraud detection and location security.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the features and benefits of Alpine Bank consumer and business products and services.
  • Understands and demonstrates the importance of the ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.


Education or Formal Training:



  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent preferred.
  • Alpine Bank New Accounts training required.
  • Dormant status preferred or appropriate course completed within 3 months of hire.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver's License is required.
  • Current possession, or ability to obtain, a Notary Public is a plus.


The successful candidate will need to obtain the following training based on availability:



  • Alpine Bank Development Academy - Level 2


Experience:



  • A minimum of one (1) year working as a Customer Service Representative II, Senior CSR, or Lead CSR;
  • One (1) year of experience working on frontline at a financial institution, preferred.
  • Previous cash handling and/or customer service experience preferred.


Working Conditions

Working Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, and multifunction printers. There are prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting in a generally fast-paced environment. Some evening and weekend hours will be included. Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Activities:

These are representative of those which must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Physical demands of standing for long periods of time, good eyesight and hand/finger dexterity, and ability to remain calm and professional with upset customers. May spend significant time doing computer work, with repetitive motion likely. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee may have to lift up to 75 pounds.
