International SEO Manager, Streaming

Location: New York, NY
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM ET
Contract Duration: Approximately 9 months, with potential for extension or permanent hire based on business needs


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced International SEO Manager to lead and drive international search engine optimization initiatives across a global streaming portfolio.

This role will own international SEO strategy, performance, roadmap development, regional prioritization, and stakeholder communication across multiple global markets. The position will work closely with Product, Engineering, Localization, Marketing, Content Operations, Analytics, and regional teams to improve organic visibility, content discoverability, and search experiences across international markets.

The ideal candidate is an SEO generalist with strong international SEO experience and a solid understanding of technical SEO, content optimization, analytics, localization, and evolving AI-driven search and discovery experiences.

This role requires someone who can think globally while understanding the nuances of different countries, languages, cultures, search behaviors, and regional content requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive international SEO strategy, performance, and roadmap development across supported global markets.
  • Serve as the primary SEO liaison for international stakeholders, aligning regional needs with broader global SEO strategy.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Localization, Content Operations, Marketing, Analytics, and regional teams to improve localized search and AI discovery experiences.
  • Drive initiatives related to feature parity, content availability, regional visibility, and market-specific SEO opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Technical SEO, Content SEO, and SEO Analytics teams while independently managing cross-functional international SEO initiatives.
  • Investigate international SEO issues, including ranking behavior, country/language mismatches, technical issues, and regional content availability differences.
  • Develop business cases, forecasts, and prioritization frameworks to support international SEO initiatives and secure necessary Product, Engineering, Content, and Localization resources.
  • Conduct multi-market keyword, topic, competitive, and SERP research to inform SEO roadmaps and optimization priorities.
  • Support SEO strategy for content launches, major events, and other market-specific initiatives.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate international SEO performance, trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Support localization and copy optimization across landing pages, metadata, structured data, internal linking, editorial content, and in-product copy.
  • Define scalable templates, documentation, workflows, and best practices for international SEO across markets, languages, page types, and recurring launches.
  • Develop stakeholder-facing presentations communicating SEO performance, roadmap priorities, business cases, forecasts, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Develop and maintain international SEO documentation, SLAs, escalation paths, workflows, and best practices.
  • Stay current on developments in SEO, localization, international search behavior, analytics, AI search, and digital marketing.
  • Collaborate across global teams and time zones, including occasional early or late meetings when necessary.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of SEO experience, including at least 1 year of international SEO experience.
  • Proven experience managing SEO initiatives for international, multi-language, or multi-region websites.
  • Strong understanding of international SEO concepts, including:

    • Hreflang
    • Localization
    • Regional URL structures
    • Country and language targeting
    • Multi-market site architecture
    • Global site management


  • Working knowledge of technical SEO, including:

    • Crawlability
    • Indexation
    • Rendering
    • Canonicals
    • Redirects
    • Structured data
    • XML sitemaps
    • Internal linking
    • Site performance
    • JavaScript SEO


  • Experience conducting international keyword research, competitive analysis, SERP analysis, and market-level opportunity assessments.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Search Console.
  • Familiarity with SEO and analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, Semrush, Botify, Screaming Frog, rank-tracking platforms, or similar tools.
  • Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams to define requirements, support implementation, validate releases, and troubleshoot SEO issues.
  • Experience working with Localization, Content Operations, Merchandising, Editorial, Marketing, and regional teams to optimize localized content, metadata, landing pages, and copy.
  • Ability to analyze SEO performance, identify trends and anomalies, and translate findings into clear recommendations and business cases.
  • Understanding of how content availability, regional licensing, market-specific catalogs, and localization constraints can affect SEO performance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to drive alignment across multiple teams, regions, and time zones.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution across technical SEO, content, analytics, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and analysis of keyword or performance datasets.


AI Search & Discovery

  • Familiarity with emerging AI search and discovery concepts is highly valuable.
  • Understanding of AI search visibility, LLM citations, answer engine optimization (AEO), and emerging search/discovery platforms.
  • Ability to consider how international and localized content may appear across traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered discovery experiences.
  • Interest in the continued evolution of search, AI, and digital discovery.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with large-scale websites.
  • Experience in streaming, entertainment, media, publishing, or a related industry.
  • Familiarity with SVOD, FAST, AVOD, or other digital video platforms.
  • Experience working across multiple international markets and cultures.
  • Experience supporting global content or product launches.
  • A second language such as Spanish, German, French, or Italian is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience developing SEO governance processes, documentation, SLAs, and scalable workflows.
