Job Description:

Some things you can expect to do:

  • Assist and grow regional field teams with use of scheduling tools that is consistent with Ryan's scheduling standard practices (Fundamentals, Ryan Process, MS Project software usage).

  • Periodically assist project teams during the project proposal stage by creating and/or reviewing schedules.

  • Ensure project teams are updating project schedules accurately and frequently.

  • Assist Construction Operations with developing and monitoring monthly project schedule health reports.

  • Assist with and/or facilitate "Pull Planning" sessions in regional offices or jobsite locations.

  • Facilitate collaborative preconstruction planning sessions with Ryan project teams, subcontractors, designers, and stakeholders to get input for sequencing, manpower and durations, as it relates to overall project milestones.

  • Initiate and/or facilitate "peer review" sessions on complex or high-profile projects as determined by Director of Scheduling or the SVP of Field Operations.

  • Capture and analyze completed project schedule data to assist Data Analytics team with fostering an environment of "continuous improvement".

  • Provide periodic and relevant information for internal communication (i.e. company intranet, training sessions or department meetings).

  • Remain current with new developments in the construction industry as it pertains to scheduling and communicate them to team members.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Individual must have a minimum of 10 years of experience within the construction industry with a minimum of 5 years in planning and scheduling of construction projects.

  • Demonstrable understanding of field operations and building construction techniques.

  • Thorough understanding of planning and scheduling principles and techniques.

  • Must be highly fluent with MS Project.

  • Knowledgeable with Primavera (P6) or 4D scheduling software a plus.

  • Familiar with the DCMA 14-point schedule health assessment.

  • Understanding of Lean Construction and Last Planner System.

  • Basic understanding of schedule delay analysis methods.

  • Ability to listen, understand and assist with resolving scheduling related problems.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in individual or group situations.

  • Demonstrates leadership - effective in leading group or individual toward Ryan standard practices.

  • Initiative - must be a self-starter and complete tasks with little supervision, take a pro-active approach and develop new and innovative solutions.

  • Ability to train, mentor, motivate and communicate effectively with others.

  • Ability to travel to all regions or specific projects throughout the year. (up to 50%).

  • Ability to walk jobsites and assess project progress.

  • Positive attitude, disciplined work ethic and the ability to turn thoughts into action.

  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with Developers, Designers, Pre-Construction, Project Managers and Field Managers.
