Calibration Technician - JLL

What this job involves:

The Calibration Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance of measurement equipment across laboratory, manufacturing, warehouse, utility, and environmental monitoring systems. Based in Chesterfield, MO, you will perform calibrations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of instruments used throughout our client's operations. This position directly supports JLL's commitment to operational excellence and quality standards, ensuring that all measurement equipment meets company specifications and applicable regulatory requirements. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform calibrations on process and utility equipment, laboratory analytical equipment, and environmental monitoring systems (e.g., incubators, freezers, balances, transmitters, indicators) in accordance with established procedures
  • Conduct inspections, measurements, and tests of equipment both in the lab and onsite for accuracy across multiple domains (chemical, electrical, physical/dimensional, light/color, mass/weight, pressure/flow, temperature, torque, volume, time/frequency)
  • Record calibration data within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and generate certificates of calibration and out-of-tolerance reports as required
  • Create, input, and manage work orders for all calibration activities (initial requests, change controls, scheduled maintenance, corrective actions, on-demand events, and emergencies) using the work order management system
  • Maintain secondary or intrinsic and working calibration standards, utilizing calibration software when required to optimize calibration times and adjust calibration devices
  • Perform modifications, improvements, and testing on electronic components and existing systems to determine functionality and capacity
  • Write and revise calibration Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), develop technical procedures, and create new calibration methods

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of instrumentation/calibration-related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree (AA/AS) in a scientific field of study or equivalent related work experience
  • Experience with CMMS software and calibration-specific software applications
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) documentation standards
  • Ability to read and understand technical material, including operating manuals and standard engineering drawings
  • Proficiency with computer-based controls and programs
