WTI has twice been designated a National University Transportation Center and has twice led a Tier 1 center.WTI also leads or supports several prominent programs, including: * The Local Technical Assistance Program* The National Center for Rural Road Safety* Safe Streets and Roads for All grants* A Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements grant* The Northern Tribal Technical Assistance Program Center What Youll DoAs Grants and Fiscal Manager, you will serve as a trusted financial and administrative resource for WTI leadership and research teams. Responsibilities include: * Partnering with WTI management to ensure compliance with MSU, State of Montana, and funding-agency policies* Preparing grant proposal budgets and project amendments with Principal Investigators* Managing proposal documentation and the electronic proposal clearance process* Monitoring grant budgets and recommending spending adjustments or budget modifications* Managing and approving departmental timesheets and payroll* Ensuring accurate time-and-effort reporting and salary allocation to grants* Analyzing, tracking, and reporting cost-share commitments* Preparing contracted service agreements, sole-source justifications, purchase requisitions, and related procurement documents* Preparing subaward requests and modifications* Coordinating sponsor amendments and contracts with MSUs Office of Sponsored Programs* Completing sponsor-required financial reporting* Reviewing vendor invoices and resolving discrepancies* Preparing budgets and reports for large, multiyear grant programs* Serving as WTIs liaison with Human Resources and Fiscal Shared Services* Providing financial projections and strategic fiscal information to the WTI Director* Supporting hiring processes and other departmental business operations Required Qualifications* Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience* Progressively responsible fiscal management experience, including preparing and monitoring budgets and financial reports* Grants and contracts administration experience, including knowledge of federal rules, regulations, and reporting requirements* Experience working with computerized accounting systems, spreadsheets, databases, and word-processing software* Strong proficiency with Windows-based applications used for financial management, business operations, project management, and communication* Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy Preferred Qualifications* Administrative or fiscal management experience within higher education* Experience managing large, complex, or multidisciplinary grants and contracts* Knowledge of Montana State University or State of Montana policies and procedures* Experience with financial systems such as Banner or Cat Books What Will Help You Succeed The successful candidate will be able to: * Interpret and communicate complex policies and procedures* Analyze detailed financial information and reports* Organize competing priorities and meet multiple deadlines* Work effectively both independently and collaboratively* Exercise sound judgment, initiative, and discretion* Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism* Build positive working relationships with faculty, staff, university departments, sponsors, and external partners* Communicate clearly in writing and in person* Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately## Additional Information This position is contingent upon continued grant funding and is not eligible for new sponsorship.Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.Montana State University is an equal opportunity employer.
