Leads and manages a department responsible for the proper accounting, recording, and reporting of the company's capital assets. Works closely with operations and work order management to manage the CWIP balance and maximize the amount of rate base that can be included in regulatory filings. Assists the Property Accounting Director in evaluating potential changes to the capitalization policy. Evaluates systematic opportunities for process improvement and automation within the Fixed Asset Accounting System. Supports the regulatory process by providing key asset transaction information in to facilitate rate recovery. Works closely with key stakeholders and management to drive continuous improvement. A partner with other finance and accounting functions to ensure that accounting records are accurate and supported by appropriate internal controls. Ensures efficient work processes are in place, supports cross-training and the knowledge transfer of best practices between the Property Accounting Departments in Houston and Evansville.
