Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Calibration Technician I to join our growing team. This role is responsible for maintaining the calibration database, coordinating internal and external calibration activities, validating the compliance and adequacy of calibration services rendered, and performing basic metrology assignments.

Salary: $25- $30/hr DOE



Responsibilities

* Maintain accurate information in a calibration database of approximately 2,000 assets
* Effectively manage calibration deadlines
* Coordinate services with calibration vendors and internal calibration technicians
* Verify calibration certification data and initiate corrective actions for out of tolerance conditions
* Support calibration-related inquiries from lab personnel
* Perform non-complex calibrations (e.g. hand tools, timers, weights)
* Perform other related duties, as assigned by the Calibration Supervisor



Skills / Qualifications

* 2-year associate degree in a science or technical discipline or equivalent experience
* Experience interpreting calibration procedures and requirements preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* Familiarity with and ability to interpret Quality Management System accreditation standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 17025 preferred
* Work independently and effectively with little supervision
* Able to prioritize work and keep key stakeholders informed of progress
* Adept with delegating tasks to lab and/or management personnel in support of quality compliance activities
* Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events/projects in the community, with customers and within the company
* Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
* Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs
* Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
