GENERAL SUMMARY
The Material Handler/Cycle Counter is responsible for picking parts as well as putting them into location when appropriate as well as the maintenance of material counts and locations. Performs cycle and piece counts as directed by supervision and schedule. Responsible for recording and maintaining proper markings, locations and counts. Supports efforts to ensure the availability of all necessary materials required to support the manufacturing process in order to meet shipment and on time delivery commitments.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Select, prepare, and distribute parts to support material needs across internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate counts, part markings and locations of inventory on shop floor including serve as the focal investigative point for the resolution of shortages working with shop floor personnel and procurement personnel.
  • Determine and discuss with supervisor any potential process improvements.
  • Shared responsibility for demonstrating professionalism and respect for all employees of DeZURIK.
  • Act as a key member of cycle count and annual physical inventory count efforts.
  • Both personal and shared responsibility for both working in a safe manner and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Forklift Operator experience required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in cycle counting and inventory control preferred.
  • Experience with an MRP system preferred.
  • Valve knowledge preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with people at all levels of business.
  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills (with minimal supervision).
  • Excellent personal discipline and work ethic with respect to time and attendance.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team building environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Physical demands are typical of a shop position including extended periods of standing, walking and driving a forklift.
  • Factory floor support is imperative.
  • Must be able to see and move throughout the plant to resolve work problems and facilitate processes.
  • Occasional handling of material and components
  • Must be able to tolerate long hours in a shop environment and support after-hours business needs as they arise
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds independently

WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron, and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
DeZURIK offers a competitive base hourly rate in the $20.18 to $24.22 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
