JOB TITLE: Regional Business Director

LOCATION: Field Based, within Southeast Region DATE PREPARED: July 9, 2026

JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides a unique opportunity for a Regional Business Director (RBD) to lead a regional field sales team to promote FOTIVDA (tivozanib) indicated for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC). This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Sales.

We seek individuals who value science-based selling, grounded in strong business analytics, and who bring a solid understanding of oncology and genuine compassion for cancer patients.

After the initial development phase, the RBD will provide strong leadership and direction to maximize regional business opportunities while collaborating closely with key cross-functional partners

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:




  • Hire, lead, develop, and manage a team of Oncology Account Managers (OAMs).
  • Promote the safe and effective use of FOTIVDA (tivozanib) within its labeled RCC indication and in accordance with company training and policies.
  • Own performance outcomes at the territory and regional levels.
  • Exercise sound judgment and uphold integrity and compliance in all activities and communications.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the Oncology/RCC environment, including disease state, local market drivers, treatment and referral patterns, key accounts, targets, influence dynamics, and barriers to optimal care.
  • Build strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders within the region.
  • Serve as a team integrator by applying contextual selling and team-selling capabilities to deliver superior customer support.
  • Monitor and manage regional field expenses.
  • Develop a strategic regional plan aligned with brand objectives.
  • Collaborate across market access, marketing, medical affairs, compliance, human resources, and other functions to achieve shared goals and resolve issues.
  • Partner closely with co-marketing teams to promote strong teamwork and consistent strategic alignment.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the oral oncolytic, GPO, and payer landscapes.
  • Support hiring, training, coaching, and performance management for OAMs supporting FOTIVDA (tivozanib), ensuring the team has deep knowledge of the local Oncology/RCC marketplace.
  • Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Sales and key stakeholders to develop regional launch and post-launch strategies and business plans.
  • Coach and mentor field staff.
  • Ensure field staff operate in accordance with company policies.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as requested by management.
  • Model and reinforce AVEO core values and leadership behaviors.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (BASIC QUALIFICATIONS):




  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) required
  • 8 + years of field experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals industry, with at least 5 years leading people or commensurate additional roles within the oncology/hematology space.
  • Oncology sales/sales leadership experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environments
  • Highly developed contextual selling skills resulting in strong, trusting customer relationships with demonstrated records of personal and team performance
  • Demonstrate a passion for improving RCC patient care delivery
  • Team leadership skills and ability to work in a matrixed environment
  • Embracing and adopting new technologies and techniques
  • Well versed in a multitude of IT capabilities to support business needs
  • Ability to build highly effective cross-functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Champions continuous learning/knowledge
  • Product launch or turnaround experience highly desired
  • Demonstrated track record of coaching and developing next-generation leaders
  • Valid driver's license and in good standing
  • Ability to travel up to 70%
