Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer - Functional Safety, OBD & Aftersales (SME)

oin a fast-paced engineering team responsible for validating next-generation propulsion systems, including battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and internal combustion engines (ICE). You will help ensure high-quality powertrain software through rigorous validation, testing, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities



  • Execute validation of powertrain control modules, including hardware, software, and calibrations
  • Perform testing in vehicle environments and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation systems
  • Develop and execute DVP&R test plans and procedures
  • Conduct initial root cause analysis and document test failures
  • Collaborate with Validation Project Chief and engineering teams to track and resolve issues
  • Support requirements-based testing, including traceability and coverage
  • Drive continuous improvement of validation processes and test strategies


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Min 8 years of experience in automotive systems, propulsion or embedded control systems
  • Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262), diagnostics, and OBD regulations (CARB CCR 1968.2, UN156, Euro 7)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced engineering degree
  • Experience in powertrain systems (ICE, hybrid, electrified)
  • Experience with diagnostic development, calibration tools, or validation (HiL)
  • Familiarity with Agile, ASPICE, or AUTOSAR
  • Experience working with suppliers and global regulatory processes
