Our department offers a dynamic and diverse clinical environment with multiple advanced treatment platforms - Varian Halcyonlinear accelerator, Varian TrueBeamlinear accelerator, and Accuray CyberKniferobotic radiotherapy system - along with a dedicated Varian Bravos HDRbrachytherapy suite. We also utilize a Philips wide-bore CTsimulator to support high-quality, patient-centered treatment planning and simulation. Varian Aria & EpicEMR systems support documentation and workflow across the entire department for seamless integration of care.

This variety of technology supports a full spectrum of advanced radiation therapy techniques, including CBCT and kV/MV imaging, IMRT, prone treatments, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), as well as HDR brachytherapy applications such as cylinders and tandem and ring procedures. We also integrated the Varian IDENTIFY system for surface-guided radiation therapy (SGRT), enabling respiratory gating and deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH) techniques to enhance treatment precision and patient safety.

You'll be joining a collaborative team that includes three radiation oncologists, dedicated nursing support, three physics, three dosimetry staff, and a core team of approximately eight radiation therapists. We treat an average of 65-75 adult patients per day across all treatment units, allowing for a steady yet manageable workflow in a solely adult patient population.

Standard treatment hours run from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Therapist schedules rotate through staggered shifts (6:30-3:00, 7:00-3:30, 7:30-4:00, and 8:00-4:30), supporting both coverage and work-life balance. The therapy team participates in a rotating Saturday call schedule (~once every 7-8 weeks). The department is closed on holidays. At this time, therapists are based at this location and do not rotate between sites.

We actively collaborate with radiation therapy students, providing a supportive clinical environment where they can build confidence, strengthen technical skills, and connect classroom learning to real world patient care. Our team values teaching and mentorship, helping students grow into competent and compassionate future therapists.

Northwest Community is part of the Endeavor Health system, a newer integrated network built on a strong community foundation. This site itself has proudly served the community for nearly 70 years. Looking ahead, we are entering an exciting period of growth. Plans are underway for a new state-of-the-art cancer institute on our campus, with construction anticipated to begin in late 2026 or early 2027 and patient care projected to begin in early 2029. This expansion will bring new technology, expanded services, and additional opportunities for professional growth as patient volumes increase.
