Build Responsible AI-From Policy to Production

At Minitab, we help organizations harness data to make better decisions. As AI adoption accelerates across our products and internal workflows, we are expanding our AI governance capability beyond policy and certification into technical oversight and enablement.

We are seeking atechnical AI Compliance & Systems Engineerto operationalize AI governance within enterprise systems-includingLLMs, custom applications, software development tools, third-party software, and emerging model ecosystems.

This role complements our legal and AI management system leadership by adding hands-on technical capability: evaluating, advising, integrating, and governing AI systems at the implementation layer.

What You'll Do

Operationalize AI Governance in Technical Systems



  • Design and implementtechnical controls and guardrailsfor enterprise AI usage, including LLM-based tools (e.g., models, custom applications, APIs, plugins).
  • Build or supportsecure pipelines and integrationsfor AI tools, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Partner with engineering and IT to embed governance directly intoAI workflows, APIs, and system architectures.


Evaluate AI Tools, Vendors, and Architectures



  • Lead technical due diligence ofthird-party AI tools, LLM providers, plugins, and embedded AI featuresin software products.
  • Assessdata flows, model behavior, security posture, and risk exposureof AI-enabled systems.
  • Develop and maintainevaluation frameworksfor approving or rejecting AI technologies.


Support AI Management System (AIMS) Execution



  • Translate ISO/IEC 42001 controls intopractical technical implementations.
  • Work alongside the AI management system lead to ensurecontrols are enforceable within systems, not just documented.
  • Help integrate AI governance intoexisting security architecture (ISO 27001)and enterprise tooling.


Enable Safe Adoption of AI Across the Business



  • Serve as atechnical advisorto product, engineering, and business teams deploying AI capabilities.
  • Defineapproved patterns, architectures, and usage modelsfor AI tools.
  • Help teams move quickly while staying withinrisk tolerance and compliance boundaries.


AI Risk, Monitoring, and Lifecycle Oversight



  • Implement mechanisms formonitoring AI system usage, outputs, and risk signals.
  • SupportAI Impact Assessments (AIIAs)with technical validation of system design and behavior.
  • Contribute toincident response and investigationrelated to AI systems.


Bridge Technical and Regulatory Domains



  • Translate regulatory requirements (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO standards) intotechnical specifications and controls.
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensurealignment between policy and implementation.



What We're Looking For

Required



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience inAI/ML systems, security engineering, or technical risk/compliance roles.
  • Hands-on experience with:


    • LLMs and AI platforms(e.g., OpenAI APIs, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
    • API integrations and data pipelines
    • Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)


  • Strong understanding of:


    • AI/ML system architecture and lifecycle
    • Data security, access controls, and secure design principles


  • Ability toevaluate technical implementations of AI, not just conceptual models.


Preferred



  • Experience integrating or governingChatGPT Enterprise or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity withAI risk frameworks(ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 23894).
  • Background inapplication security, DevSecOps, or ML engineering.
  • Experience assessingthird-party software and vendor risk.
  • Certifications in cloud, security, or AI (e.g., AWS, Azure AI, CISSP).
