For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Medical Assistants:

0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)

1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position.
Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Your Role:
The MA position is an integral part of the ambulatory practice. This position is responsible for managing patient flow, rooming patient and keeping providers on time. They ensure available results are updated in the EMR so the provider has all the information to manager the patient's care. The MA completes all refills according to the policy, and responds to patient messages. They function as a member of the clinical team performing a supportive role in the delivery of patient care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and six months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or one year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
  2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by Mainehealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
  3. Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant at MaineHealth required.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Meets expected requirements in the Medical Assistant III ladder.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
