We are seeking a Certified Medical Coder with expertise in outpatient and emergency department (ED) coding for an acute care setting. The ideal candidate must possess proficient computer skills, including experience with MS Word, Excel, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and Encoder. A strong understanding of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, and federal billing guidelines is essential, along with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. The candidate should be capable of researching coding-related issues and have competence in coder training. CCS certification and familiarity with the 3M/HDS coding application are required, along with outpatient and ED experience.


Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is expected to be between USD 15.00 to USD 21.00 per hour. As a supplier, your expected pay range may vary and may include certain benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K. Additional benefits like commissions or incentive bonuses may be applicable.


Education Requirement

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • AHIMA, RHIA, or RHIT certification
  • CCP or CCS certification


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum of three years of experience in medical coding
  • Knowledge of ICD-10


Schedule and Work Arrangement

This role is initially remote, with 1-2 weeks of onsite training at the start. The Hiring Manager is flexible with the schedule. The position requires experience with EPIC and 3M systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of outpatient coding experience and emergency department coding experience. The work arrangement starts onsite for training and transitions to remote work once duties are mastered.


Additional Notes

We are seeking certified coders with a strong inpatient coding background. Candidates should be able to work with minimal training.
