Job Summary

The Insurance Specialist is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with non-life insurance governance requirements at the country level. This role works in close collaboration with corporate finance and tax partners and local insurance brokers to manage insurance programs, optimize coverage, and oversee claims handling. The Insurance Specialist ensures that all insurance activities comply with internal standards and local legislation while supporting business leaders with expert insurance guidance.
Job Responsibilities



  • Manage and lead all country-level insurance processes, procedures, and annual activities to ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, and timelines.
  • Ensure all mandatory local insurance policies are in place and compliant with local legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and advice on local insurance matters to business leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Optimize insurance coverage by avoiding double insurance, reviewing deductibles, and identifying cost-efficient solutions.
  • Collect, validate, and report insured values to insurers in a timely manner to support accurate premium calculations and renewals.
  • Coordinate risk engineering services and support compliance with group risk management requirements.
  • Report accidental losses and gather required documentation to support claims filing in accordance with established claims procedures.
  • Coordinate insurance policies with local insurance brokers in alignment with centrally agreed arrangements.
  • Communicate significant changes in insured values or risk profiles to the group insurance function.
  • Escalate large, complex, or high-impact claims to the global insurance department as required.


Job Requirements



  • Strong technical understanding of corporate insurance structures and non-life insurance programs.
  • Working knowledge of insurance cost planning, budgeting, and expenditure management.
  • Understanding of invoicing and control processes related to insurance premiums and claims.
  • Familiarity with insurance policy agreements covering employees, property, assets, and business resources.
  • Knowledge of contract provisions, legal principles, claims management, insurance placement, and renewals.
  • Understanding of global insurance markets, pricing models, risk management principles, and regulatory considerations.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills with brokers, insurers, and external partners.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex insurance topics to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven negotiation skills with the ability to achieve outcomes acceptable to all parties.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.


Education



  • University degree in business administration, economics, law, or a related field.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of five years of experience in the international insurance market, either as a client representative, broker, or insurance company professional.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and negotiating large and complex insurance claims.
