Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment integrity, supporting timely repairs, and reducing unscheduled downtime. This role performs mechanical and electrical maintenance on production machinery and facility support equipment while following safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities




  • Support the Preventative Maintenance program to help reduce unscheduled downtime.



  • Troubleshoot equipment issues by analyzing problems and interpreting technical information.



  • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility support equipment.



  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions and verify completed work.



  • Follow all safety policies, Lockout/Tagout procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety standards, personal safety standards, and OSHA requirements.



  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and plant electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, instrumentation, distribution, and feed control systems.



  • Complete assigned work orders within established timelines.



  • Maintain accurate records of work performed using maintenance software, work orders, and detailed logs.



  • Communicate effectively across teams and departments.



  • Assist with equipment changeovers and line startups, troubleshooting issues as needed.



  • Identify required parts and maintain current inventories and reorder lists.



  • Support the production of high-quality products.



  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, provide process improvement suggestions, and contribute to team projects.




Job Requirements




  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in a production, manufacturing, or facility environment.



  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and related electrical and mechanical systems.



  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices, Lockout/Tagout procedures, GMP standards, food safety standards, and OSHA requirements.



  • Ability to lift 50 to 80 pounds.



  • Ability to stand for eight or more hours and perform repetitive motions.



  • Ability to climb ladders and stairways and use a manlift or scissor lift at ceiling heights or above with proper safety equipment.



  • Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.



  • Ability to walk frequently, use hands to handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.



  • Ability to occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell.



  • Ability to work with frequent exposure to oils, greases, or coolants.



  • Ability to work with occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, high places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and vibration.



  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are required.



  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain accurate work records.
