Position Overview

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct resident care in a long-term care setting, supporting daily living activities, safety, mobility, nutrition, documentation, and resident rights. This full-time role requires day/evening shift rotations, including every other weekend and holiday.

Job Responsibilities




  • Assist residents with daily living needs, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and skin care, according to the care plan.



  • Maintain resident safety by responding to call lights, using safety equipment, supporting fall prevention, and keeping the unit clean.



  • Support residents during meals by delivering trays, assisting with feeding, using adaptive equipment, and honoring food preferences.



  • Assist with mobility and rehabilitation needs, including range of motion, walking, transfers, positioning, and use of assistive devices.



  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.



  • Measure and document resident weight, intake, and output.



  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.



  • Support residents' social and emotional well-being through interaction and companionship.



  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold residents' rights at all times.



  • Report resident concerns, changes in condition, or care refusals to the nurse promptly.



  • Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner according to protocol.




Job Requirements




  • Active New York State Nursing Assistant Certification required.



  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI required.



  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a licensed CNA in a long-term care setting required.



  • Ability to work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with day/evening shift rotations.



  • Ability to work every other weekend and holiday as required.



  • Ability to perform resident care duties that may involve occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.




Education




  • High school diploma or GED required.




Work Experience




  • Minimum of 1 year of CNA experience in a long-term care setting required.

Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.)




  • Full-time schedule: 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week, totaling 37.5 hours per week.



  • Day/evening shift rotations required.



  • Every other weekend and holiday required.
