*Overview* We are seeking a skilled and dependable *Fire Alarm Technician* to support installation, inspection, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm and life safety systems across commercial and industrial environments.
This position is critical to ensuring systems are fully operational, code-compliant, and protecting both people and property. The ideal candidate brings strong technical experience, problem-solving ability, and a customer-first mindset in the field. *Top Skills Required* *Technical Systems Expertise* * Strong working knowledge of fire alarm systems and components * Experience with system installation, testing, and servicing *Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving* * Ability to diagnose issues across hardware, software, and network connectivity * Step-by-step, logical approach to identifying and resolving faults *Low Voltage & Installation Skills* * Running, terminating, labeling, and testing cables (Cat5/6, coax, fiber) * Reading blueprints, schematics, and installation drawings * Performing clean, organized, and code-compliant installations *Basic Networking Knowledge* * Understanding of IP addressing, routers, switches, and system connectivity * Ability to integrate fire alarm and security systems into customer networks *Customer Service & Communication* * Professional interaction with clients, contractors, and inspectors * Ability to clearly explain system functionality and service updates * Represent the company positively on job sites *Key Responsibilities* * Install, service, inspect, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems and related components * Perform system testing to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards * Diagnose and repair wiring issues, device failures, and panel faults * Read and interpret blueprints and system schematics to execute installations accurately * Complete service documentation and inspection reports * Communicate with customers before and after service to explain work performed * Coordinate with project managers and team members to meet deadlines and job requirements * Maintain compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and safety standards *Required Qualifications* * Hands-on experience with fire alarm systems installation and service * Familiarity with NFPA standards and fire/life safety codes * Experience with low-voltage cabling and infrastructure * Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills * Ability to work independently and on a team *Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills* * Experience working with fire alarm brands such as: * *Qolsys, DMP, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight* * Advanced networking knowledge * Previous service technician experience * Project coordination or job tracking experience *Work Environment* * Field-based role supporting commercial and industrial job sites * May require travel between job locations * Hands-on work with tools, ladders, and lifts *What Sets This Role Apart* * Opportunity to work on critical life safety systems * Exposure to a variety of commercial projects * Growth potential within a stable and high-demand industry *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of O'Brien, FL. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
