*Job Posting: Network Engineer - Test & Turn-Up (OT / Infrastructure)* Location: 100% REMOTE Employment Type: 12 month contract About the Role We are looking for a *hands-on Network Engineer* to support the deployment and activation of critical network infrastructure that powers real-world operations - including *substations, control centers, and field environments*.
This is not a typical corporate IT role. You'll be working on networks that support *energy and infrastructure systems*, ensuring everything is tested, secure, and fully operational before going live. What You'll Do As a *Test & Turn-Up (TTU) Network Engineer*, you'll be responsible for: * Performing *end-to-end testing and validation* of new network deployments * Bringing new circuits, devices, and sites *online and production-ready* * Configuring and troubleshooting *Cisco routers and switches* * Implementing *Fortinet firewalls*, VPNs, and segmentation * Supporting *industrial networking equipment* (e.g., Ruggedcom) in field environments * Validating connectivity across *fiber, Ethernet, and transport networks* * Ensuring monitoring tools (SNMP, syslog, NetFlow) are integrated and working * Creating documentation, diagrams, and turn-up reports * Partnering with engineering, field teams, and cybersecurity to ensure smooth deployments What We're Looking For Must-Have Skills: * Experience with *Cisco networking (routing & switching)* * Hands-on experience with *network deployment, testing, or turn-up activities* * Experience with *Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate)* or similar technologies * Ability to troubleshoot real-world network issues in *live environments* Nice-to-Have: * Experience in *utilities, substations, or industrial/OT environments* * Familiarity with *SCADA or operational technology systems* * Experience with *Ruggedcom or other industrial networking equipment* * Knowledge of *MPLS, fiber networks, or transport technologies (DWDM, microwave)* Why This Role is Unique * Work on *critical infrastructure* that supports power and energy systems * Be part of projects that directly impact *real-world operations* * Hands-on role - not just maintaining networks, but *building and activating them* * Exposure to *industrial/OT networking environments*, not just enterprise IT Ideal Background You might be a great fit if you have experience in: * Utilities or energy companies * Telecom or network service providers * Industrial or manufacturing environments * Large-scale infrastructure or field network deployments Interested?
