This role is part of Alcon's Training & Development function, a team that enhances employee skills, knowledge, and performance to align with the company's strategic goals and help our people and the world see brilliantly.

The Associate, Manufacturing & Technical Operations Training (Professional Path) is primarily responsible for designing, scheduling, delivering, and tracking technical training, ensuring consistent delivery and onboarding. You will also run a train-the-trainer program and qualify area trainers.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Design, schedule, deliver, and track technical training, establishing training and education modules for consistent onboarding
  • Provide a train-the-trainer program and qualify area trainers for content delivery
  • Develop training materials and knowledge assessments for area standard operation procedures, partnering with functional areas to coordinate these assessments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document trainings and processes
  • Utilize training authoring and multimedia tools and software for development projects
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competition, training and development research, learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques
  • Incorporate feedback from training sessions into future training content

This role will support the ASPEX Filling Group, a 24/7 manufacturing operation, and is critical to ensuring consistent training, compliance, and operational readiness across all shifts. The position requires the ability to work a rotating shift schedule to provide coverage and support across all four shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the ASPEX Filling training program, ensuring standardized, high-quality training across all shifts.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve training materials, curricula, and qualification pathways for filling operations.
  • Deliver hands-on and classroom training to operators and support staff, adapting content to shift-specific needs.
  • Ensure all training aligns with SOPs, GMPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Leadership teams to identify training gaps and drive skill development.
  • Support onboarding and cross-training initiatives to improve workforce flexibility and operational coverage.
  • Track training completion, qualifications, and re-certification requirements using approved systems.
  • Provide on-floor coaching and performance feedback to reinforce proper techniques and adherence to procedures.
  • Act as a key point of contact for training-related support during investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to work independently across shifting schedules while maintaining consistency and accountability.
