The Role: As part of a newly formed and rapidly expanding department, the Transfer Center serves as the operational and clinical hub for patient movement into UVA Medical Center. Managing 800-1100 transfers per month, this team ensures that patients gain access to specialized services and higher levels of care that are not available elsewhere. This Weekend Program position is ideal for experienced RNs seeking a consistent, concentrated schedule while remaining deeply engaged in complex, high-impact clinical work. You will function as the central clinical coordinator, balancing urgency, communication, and precision in real time. In this role, you will experience a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where no two shifts are the same. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor's of Science in. Nursing Degree is preferred required within 5 years of hire date for all new hires. Experience: 3 years relevant experience. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of. Virginia required. Valid Virginia Driver's License (VADL) may be required PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. The starting base rate for this role is $41.26 hourly.
