Journeyman General/Interdisciplinary Engineer

LOCATION:Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA

Salary Range: $110-120,000.00

JOB STATUS: Full-time

CLEARANCE: Secret

CERTIFICATION: n/a

TRAVEL: Limited, as needed

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Journeyman General/Interdisciplinary Engineer to support the C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI) Division, which focuses on providing enterprise support to over 110 active Air Force, Air National Guard (ANG), and Air Force Reserve installations and bases.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • BA/BS or MA/MS and 3 years of experience, of which 3 years must be in the DoD
  • OR 7 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, of which 5 year must be in the DoD
  • OR GED, 2 years of experience in the respective profession being performed, of which 2 years must be in the DoD.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of VOIP and telephone technologies.
  • Review vendor technical/engineering documenation
  • Coordinated with PMs on findings and propose changes needed to ensure vendor makes adjustments based off of requirements
  • Understanding of technical drawings
  • Be able to articulate operational impacts to leadership
  • Must be able to lead technical syncs and coordinate cross domain work with multiple PMOs
  • Be able to present artifacts and gather information on market research and industry best practices.
  • The individual shall possess an in-depth knowledge and skill in applying engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods sufficient to extend or modify theories, concepts, and assumptions

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Resolve unique or novel problems, conditions, or issues, or significantly alter standard practices, equipment, devices, processes, and known techniques
  • Provide expert advice to professional colleagues and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations
  • Provide significant and innovative recommendations for advancing programs and/or methods, and execute significant projects representing an important segment of the agency's operating programs
  • The individual should exercises judgment and ingenuity in evaluating the value and applicability of new or improved technology, strategies, trends, or applications, investigating, predicting, and anticipating issues and conditions extending beyond a single specialty area, and affecting known standards, approaches, precedents, or concepts
  • Develop or collaborate in the formulation of new standards, applications, concepts, or theories; changing existing knowledge and extending an understanding of phenomena
  • Assess and carry out strategies and actions to affirm the integrity, economy, quality, and effectiveness of engineering or scientific programs; or advocating recommendations, strategies, and actions to reconcile or resolve novel, conflicting, or controversial issues or policies.
