As an Electronics Technician for production at Arete, you will be responsible for assembling the electronics and necessary subassemblies for AIRTRAC lasers. These assemblies require soldering, following procedures, and reading schematics and drawings. You will also be responsible for the construction, integration, and test of custom cabling harnesses. You will be working with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to assemble, test, and calibrate electronics for lasers. You will also contribute to building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying developmental and production electronic systems independently, or under the direction of an electrical or optical engineer. This position is based in our Niwot, CO office. This is a non-exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and test electro-optical and electronics units for production based on designs, specifications, and procedures.
  • Construct, integrate, and test custom cabling harnesses as needed.
  • Set up test apparatus and conduct testing of electrical, optical, and electro-optical production assemblies following established methods, procedures, specifications, and standards.
  • Adjust and calibrate systems as required.
  • Fills out assembly and test documentation. May write and edit procedures
  • Assists in troubleshooting failures to identify root causes of malfunctions. Implements corrective actions
  • Monitor and verify quality of assemblies in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
  • Position requires some interaction with suppliers and customers
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Experiences and Background We Look For (required skills):

  • AA/AS in a Technical or Engineering field or similar relevant discipline. Minimum 2 year of experience preferred, and significant relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, current clamps, AC/DC power supplies, and multimeters.
  • Strong fine motor skills; ability to work on small assemblies under a microscope
  • Ability to produce professional documentation and thoroughly document setups and testing results.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Good consistent work ethics
  • Soldering experience
  • J-STD-001 certification

The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $80,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
