Responsibilities:

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a highly skilled Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Pharmacist to deliver patientcentered, evidencebased care for complex and highcost therapies.
This role plays a critical part in optimizing medication outcomes by collaborating with healthcare providers, supporting patient management programs, and ensuring safe, effective, and costconscious use of specialty medications. This position combines strong clinical expertise with a commitment to education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous professional growth to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.

How you would support the team.
  • Verify and evaluate medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and therapeutic effectiveness
  • Review medication profiles and resolve drug therapy problems using evidencebased clinical judgment
  • Provide clinical consultation and drug information to healthcare providers and patients regarding optimal and costeffective specialty medication use
  • Support and provide clinical oversight for specialty Patient Management Programs
  • Research, interpret, and apply clinical literature to guide patient care decisions and medication management
  • Package, label, and dispense medications in accordance with established policies and regulatory standards
  • Maintain proper storage, security, and inventory control of medications and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies, quality assurance initiatives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards
  • Document clinical activities and interventions as appropriate
  • Oversee and support pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and residents; participate in training and education initiatives
  • Maintain professional competency through participation in continuing education, industry conferences, and current clinical literature
  • Contribute to the development, review, and maintenance of pharmacy policies, procedures, and clinical practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
  • Current, unrestricted New Mexico Pharmacist license required
  • New Mexico Pharmacist Clinician / Vaccination Prescribing Authority certification required
  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical residency or equivalent specialty pharmacy experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate medication therapy and apply clinical knowledge in practice
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
