KPMG is currently seeking a Manager or Senior Manager, Fixed Assets / Cost Segregation (AMCS) to join our Accounting Methods and Credit Services practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Manageand perform cost segregation and fixed asset analyses for constructionprojects, real estate acquisitions, and renewable energy and sustainabilityinitiatives
  • Analyzeand review construction cost data, general ledger detail,architectural/engineering drawings, and capitalization support to determineasset classification and identify costs eligible for tax treatment
  • Overseesite visits and fieldwork to evaluate building components (such as electrical,mechanical, plumbing systems) and validate cost assumptions
  • Manageclient relationships and collaborate with clients, contractors, and internalteams to gather technical documentation and ensure completeness and accuracy ofanalyses
  • Reviewand deliver engineering-based reports, depreciation analyses, reconciliations,and supporting documentation, including oversight of tax fixed assetoutsourcing engagements (Fed, State, E&P)
  • Identifyopportunities related to sales tax exemptions (such as utility reviews), processimprovements, and data-driven workflow enhancements; participate in businessdevelopment activities and support go-to-market efforts

Additional Responsibilities for Senior Manager:

  • Leadmultiple complex engagements and client relationships, drive businessdevelopment and practice growth, and develop and mentor junior team memberswhile serving as a technical resource across projects

Qualifications:

  • Minimumfive years of recent experience in an engineering firm, corporation, or publicaccounting firm; experience in cost segregation, fixed asset consulting,construction, engineering, or a related technical field
  • Bachelor'sdegree from an accredited college/university in engineering, architecture, construction management, accounting, finance, or aclosely related discipline is required
  • Strongunderstanding of construction processes and building systems, and how projectcosts translate into asset classifications; Knowledge of federal income taxdepreciation principles and accounting for capital expenditures
  • LicensedCPA, EA or JD/LLM, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing;any individual who does not possess at least one of the approveddesignations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year fromtheir date of hire to obtain at least one of the approveddesignations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currentlyapproved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, yourrecruiter can provide you with that list
  • Experiencemanaging multiple engagements, reviewing technical analyses, and working withlarge project cost datasets and technical documentation
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (such as advanced formulas, pivot tables, lookups)and experience working with structured data from financial or operationalsystems; demonstrated experience or strong aptitude with datawrangling/automation tools (Power Query, Alteryx), business intelligencetools (such as Power BI, Tableau), or query/scripting languages (such as, SQL,Python, R)

Additional Qualifications for Senior Manager:

Minimumeight years of experience with demonstrated ability to lead complexengagements, manage client relationships, drive business developmentinitiatives, and mentor and develop team members
