Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer - Vehicle Structures (Contract Role)

Location: Sterling Heights, MI

Pay: Up to $55/hr

We are seeking a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer for a contract opportunity supporting advanced vehicle design and structural engineering programs. This role is ideal for an experienced simulation engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys applying FEA, classical engineering methods, and emerging analysis tools to solve complex structural challenges.

As an FEA Engineer, you will perform system and component-level structural analysis to support vehicle development. Responsibilities include linear and nonlinear stress analysis for static, dynamic, shock, vibration, modal, transient, and frequency response conditions. You will also conduct bolted joint calculations, support design optimization, and help improve structural performance, weight reduction, durability, and manufacturability.

This role requires collaboration with design, testing, and engineering teams to evaluate concepts, validate simulation results, and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will also help evaluate new analysis tools and workflows, including meshless methods, and document best practices for engineering teams.

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field
  • 5-7 years of structural analysis and FEA experience
  • Experience with ANSA/METAExperience with Nastran, OptiStruct, and/or LS-DYNA
  • Knowledge of bolted joint design and structural dynamics
  • Strong communication and reporting skills



Preferred Skills:



  • Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Creo, or VisMockUp
  • nCode or GlyphWorks fatigue analysis
  • NVH analysis experience
  • Python scripting or data analysis experience
  • Familiarity with simulation automation or optimization tools
