Position Title: Director Corporate Quality Customer Account Support Power & Energy

Location: US - Houston TX

About the position:

Sanmina is looking for a Director of Corporate Quality to manage and support all aspects of Quality and Customer Support activities for electronic manufacturing related operations in the Power and Energy market segment, including but not limited to transformer manufacturing operations.

Must have industry experience, with a track record of success, and a broad understanding of energy industry requirements and standards. We are looking for hands on leader, who will support the company's rapidly growing business environment and will work directly with the plants involved in manufacturing activities in support of their respective customers.

We are looking for an individual who has experience working in a global environment across multiple sites.

The Director of Corporate Quality's goal will be to create an atmosphere of collaboration and improvement between the manufacturing plants, corporate staff and customer representatives, driving implementation of Best Practices and ensuring delivery of highest level of service to our customers.

Customer support and representation is also a requirement. Proactive support of customer and manufacturing sites to ensure best customer service is achieved and continuous collaboration with Corporate Quality staff and Sales Account Management for best customer support - are key expectations to this position.

Visits to customer locations as well as Sanmina plants will be required, entailing both domestic and international travel.

The responsibilities of this position will include, but may not be limited to:




  • Ensure compliance of sites with industry standards, customer requirements and specifications
  • Be main contact for customers and proactively work on developing strong collaboration with customer counterparts
  • Support of PPAP or equivalent activities at site level - from training to regular up-dates, as it will be required
  • Assists plants with development of Control Plans and Work Instructions in accordance to their PFMEAs, Process Flows, Company quality system's procedures, customer requirements as required
  • Partner with Sanmina Corporate Quality and Manufacturing Operations to solve quality problems while maintaining manufacturing efficiencies, meeting competitive business deadlines and increasing customer satisfaction levels.
  • Support plants as necessary with root cause analysis, 8D, problem solving while driving consistent and lasting improvements
  • Ensure communication between plants and sharing of best practices, lessons learned - for consistent customer support and representation.



To be considered for this position, a candidate will posses and demonstrate the following:




  • Power & Energy market segment experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • 7+ years industrial experience in Quality Engineering/Quality Management in the EMS Industry, with operational background - hands on, plant level experience
  • Experience working with teams in a global environment
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in managing all aspects of Quality Management System, Operational Excellence activities in a Power and Energy manufacturing environment
  • Lean and Six Sigma experience a plus
  • Very strong communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with customers and plant level teams
  • Ability to facilitate collaboration and communication with all operational teams as well as support functions worldwide
  • Able to travel - domestic and internationally
  • Strong presentation skills - both presentation material development and presentation delivery
