About the Houston Facility

The Sanmina Houston facility is a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant slated to become fully operational by the final quarter of 2026. This full-service facility will produce low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs through full-scale volume production. Key capabilities include precision metal fabrication, welding, assembly, and industrial painting, offering everything from standalone piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems, paired with flexible logistics solutions in distribution and inventory management.


Job Purpose

The Program and Product Manager leads the end-to-end lifecycle and execution of strategic customer initiatives at the facility. This role serves as the primary site liaison between Sanmina and the customer, translating customer needs into clear manufacturing plans while coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure milestones are met on time, within budget, and aligned with core business objectives. You will manage the implementation of manufacturing routings for new products to ensure profitability, evaluate technical feasibility for new program onboarding, and ensure all decisions align with the customer's Master Services Agreement (MSA) and contract terms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Program Governance & Execution: Oversee a portfolio of customer projects using PMO best practices. Create comprehensive project plans, manage cross-functional dependencies, track KPIs, and proactively mitigate risks associated with new product launches.
  • Customer Liaison & Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for the customer. Drive effective internal and external meetings, provide clear progress reports, manage expectations, and resolve issues swiftly to prevent project delays and escalations.
  • Technical Feasibility & NPI: Evaluate technical requirements and manufacturing feasibility for incoming products. Coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing to define program scopes, roles, and responsibilities. Ensure timely implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Financial & Contract Management: Support General Management with data-driven evaluations of manufacturing capabilities to ensure high ROI on new programs. Review, understand, and drive compliance with contract and MSA terms.
  • Operational Performance: Monitor facility and program KPIs (including review of process capability metrics like CpK/PpK). Analyze data to recommend continuous improvement courses of action to upper management.


Education & Experience Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Project/Program Management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Industry Background: Strong exposure to Contract Manufacturing (EMS) and experience managing programs in the Automotive sector is highly preferred.
  • Technical Domain Knowledge: Proven experience launching new electro-mechanical products. Strong background in steel/sheet metal fabrication and welding processes.
  • Design & Systems Literacy: Proficiency in reading/interpreting blueprints and familiarity with CAD software (such as SolidWorks) to evaluate product designs.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated experience in risk analysis, resource allocation, and budget administration.
  • Data Tools: Strong proficiency with data analytics tools and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project).
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a track record of driving proactive, positive customer interactions.
