As an HR Business Architect, you will define how business strategy translates into capabilities, value streams, and operating models. You will proactively partner with the HR functional teams, technology teams, and operations to create future-state blueprints that elevate the digital employee experience. Utilizing a systems thinking mindset, you will act as a core problem solver for our holistic HR Tech Stack (including Rostering, Timekeeping, Scheduling, Workday, Paradox, and ServiceNow), prioritizing investments and ensuring our integrated solutions deliver measurable, transformative outcomes for our workforce.

Essential Functions

  • Develop current- and future-state capability maps, value stream definitions, and process models aligned to enterprise strategy

  • Facilitate roadmap creation and portfolio planning with product and technology leaders; define epics and success metrics

  • Lead discovery and problem framing for complex initiatives; develop options and recommendations supported by business cases

  • Define business requirements at the capability and feature level; ensure traceability from strategy to delivery outcomes

  • Establish measurement plans and KPIs to track benefits realization and continuous improvement

  • Partner with Enterprise/Solution Architecture to align business capabilities with data, application, and integration architectures

  • Support organizational change management by shaping stakeholder engagement, readiness plans, and training needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities across processes, org structures, and technology enablement

  • Create decision-ready artifacts such as capability heatmaps, value stream maps, operating models, and executive summaries

  • Prioritize demand across value streams; facilitate trade-off decisions and dependency management

  • Guide product owners and analysts on scope, acceptance criteria, and non-functional needs from a business outcomes perspective

  • Standardize methods and templates for business architecture deliverables; mentor junior team members

Key Skills

  • Business architecture methods including capability modeling, value stream mapping, and operating model design

  • Portfolio and roadmap planning, including epic definition, prioritization, and benefits realization

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen for business cases, cost/benefit, and KPI design

  • Process improvement and service design techniques; familiarity with Lean/Agile delivery practices

  • Executive communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management across business and technology

  • HR and HR Technology experience preferred


Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

General knowledge of hardware, software, and network.

Preferred Qualifications: This position is eligible for remote work and may be located anywhere within the United States excluding AK, HI and U.S. territories, however if you live within the 50 miles radius of a campus you will be required to work at a FedEx campus location several times per week.
