About the Team

The Radiation Oncology team at Lakewood Health System provides advanced cancer treatment services through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. The team works closely with Radiation Oncologists, Physicists, Dosimetrists, Nursing, and support staff to deliver safe, accurate, and patient-centered radiation therapy.

Mission for Position

Provide clinical expertise and leadership to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient delivery of radiation therapy while supporting high-quality patient care and operational excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Lead Radiation Therapist provides clinical expertise and day-to-day leadership within the radiation oncology department. This role supports treatment planning, oversees daily operations, and ensures adherence to quality and safety standards. Responsibilities include overseeing daily treatment delivery, verifying treatment accuracy, operating and troubleshooting radiation therapy equipment, supporting CT simulation and patient positioning, coordinating workflow and scheduling, and maintaining accurate documentation within the EHR.

The Lead Radiation Therapist collaborates with the multidisciplinary care team to optimize treatment planning and delivery, supports quality assurance and safety processes, and contributes to workflow improvements and program growth initiatives. This role also serves as a key resource for staff, promotes consistent workflows, and fosters a compassionate, patient-centered care environment through patient education, communication, and team collaboration.

Position Type

This is a full-time position working 80 hours per pay period (1.0 FTE).

Qualifications

Qualifications



  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program (required)
  • ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)) (required)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist
