Summary of Position

The Junior Software Engineering Program provides handson learning, mentorship, and structured guidance to help junior engineers strengthen their skills and contribute meaningfully on real projects. This is a great opportunity to launch your software engineering career by applying core computer science principles to real production systems. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, gain handson development experience, and steadily grow your technical independence as you build confidence and expertise.

The role is designed for earlycareer engineers who want structured mentorship, real ownership, and clear growth into the next stage of their engineering career path.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and improve welldefined software features within existing systems
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to break down problems and evaluate solution options, with guidance
  • Write clean, maintainable, welltested code following established best practices
  • Create and run unit and basic functional tests to ensure reliable, highquality software
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical problemsolving sessions
  • Troubleshoot bugs and technical issues with increasing independence
  • Use modern development tools, version control, and testing frameworks in daily work
  • Document technical decisions and learnings to support maintainability and knowledge sharing
  • Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders to turn requirements into working solutions
  • Continuously learn and develop your software engineering skills

The time spent on each responsibility reflects an estimate and is subject to change dependent on business needs.

Qualifications Expected for Position

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent handson experience (internships, apprenticeships, bootcamps, opensource, or personal projects)
  • Solid understanding of core computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms, software fundamentals)
  • Experience with at least one programming language and version control (e.g., Git)
  • Familiarity with modern development practices such as testing, build tools, and team workflows
  • Strong problemsolving skills, curiosity, and desire to grow as an engineer
  • Exposure to Agile or iterative development environments is a plus
  • Experience working in shared codebases through coursework or projects is a plus
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

The above qualifications, knowledge, experience, and/or background are expected but not required for this role.

The base salary for this position is$80,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2026.Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.This information is applicable for all full-time positions.

We follow a Flexible Vacation Policy, intended for rest, relaxation, and personal time. All time off must be approved by your manager prior to use. You will also receive 80 hours of Paid Sick, Safe, and Caregiver Leave annually. This applies to full-time positions only.
