*** Full- Time Monday- Friday 8:30 A.M.- 4:30 P.M., Pay Range: $80,000-$86,000 Depending on Experience***

Summary/Primary Purpose: Responsible for performing various accounting and financial functions for the General Fund of the Western Division (WST).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the General Fund, review budget comparisons. and analyze accounts, including all exchange and transmission accounts.
  • Maintain ledgers, journals and files for reporting.
  • Prepares the General Fund management report on a quarterly basis for Divisional Finance Board review.
  • Serves as the resource person to assist program directors with yearly assessment for budgetary and financial needs.
  • Coordinates and prepares the General Fund and Service Extension annual operating budgets.
  • Develops, maintains, and provides budgetary information for all Service Extension units throughout the Western Division to reflect program impact on annual budgets.
  • Approve Service Extension Special Project requests and ensure reconciliations are completed.
  • Prepares financial reports and forms for the internal audit schedules and other reports as requested.
  • Monitor and manage the General Fund cash flow requirements.
  • Prepare the support service calculations monthly for Divisional Headquarters.
  • Responsible for year-end closing of the General Fund.
  • Reconcile reserve accounts for DHQ, City Fund and Corps monthly.
  • Invoices all accounts receivable for the General Fund.
  • Responsible for processing all DHQ ACH reimbursements and acts as secondary "authorizer" to all Corps ACH transactions.
  • Compute monthly interest on reserves for the Corps.
  • Conduct monthly review of Corps Reports to ensure accuracy of reserve balances and DHQ receivables etc. for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  • Driving is an essential function of the position.
  • All other duties as assigned.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: General Fund Accounts Payable/Receipting Clerks.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in business, with concentration in accounting/finance or 3-5 years of accounting experience in a related field.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.



  • Flexible and strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects or tasks simultaneously, as well as creative problem solving and team building skills.
  • Mathematical skills include add, subtract, multiply, divide, use of common fractions and decimals.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and ability to access pay, personal and timekeeping data via a web-based system.
  • Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to details and filing.
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.



Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. You must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

Working Conditions: The work environment is an office environment, with moderate to loud noise, and may include varying temperatures that may be encountered in the facility, public venues and outside.
