Position Overview

Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as the Department of Defense's constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA capitalizes on a unique business model that values speed and lowers costs by harnessing commercial development to achieve a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience. We are seeking a Space Vehicle Vendor Systems Engineer to support SDA's mission. Responsibilities include:



Responsibilities

    Evaluate the design, development, production, testing, deployment, and operation of OPIR sensors and sensor systems
  • Evaluate current and planned OPIR satellite collection systems and processing capabilities
  • Inspect and evaluate Ground System development, production, integration, and testing of OPIR systems
  • Perform core systems engineering and analysis tasks and processes.
  • Inspect and evaluate manufacturing operations, production maturity/readiness, supply chain integrity
  • Review engineering documents, provide SME support to technical and programmatic engagements between industry and the Government Program Office; participate in and advise during major program milestone reviews, (i.e. Critical Design Review (CDR), Pre-Shipment Review (PSR), Ground Readiness Review (GRR), Operations Readiness Review (ORR)
  • Develop and maintain future capability roadmaps by coordinating among the organization's programs and functional areas and with external partners
  • Facilitate system deployment and transition to operations activities; support the program office's launch integration activities and launch campaign execution
  • Assess program risks and opportunities and provide input on ways to respond to identified risks


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or relevant technical discipline
  • 10 years' experience directly related to space system hardware and software
  • TS/SCI Required; #qinetiqclearedjob
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working across a diverse range of organizations to achieve strategic goals
  • Ability to work remotely when required as part of a geographically distributed program office team


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree - Master of Science or higher preferred
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or Office of the Undersecretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW A&S) Program Management - Advanced Certification
