Cable Technician (Data Center) Job Overview TEKsystems is hiring Entry-Level Cable Technicians to support large-scale data center infrastructure builds. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn structured cabling and gain real-world experience in a fast-growing industry. In this role, you'll work side-by-side with experienced technicians and team leads, learning the fundamentals of data center cabling while contributing to critical infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities * Pull copper and fiber cable throughout a data center environment * Drop cable down walls using fish tape or approved methods * Route cable through infrastructure such as cable trays, J-hooks, D-rings, bridal rings, and trapeze systems * Perform pre-termination work: organizing, dressing, labeling, and determining correct cable length and slack * Install cable trays, pathways, and server racks * Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling as required * Terminate low-voltage devices * Read and follow prints and diagrams * Accurately complete all required documentation (timesheets, work orders, material transfers, tool transfers, and change orders) * Follow all TEKsystems, customer, and industry safety and quality standards * Complete additional tasks as assigned Additional Qualifications * Punctual and dependable * Strong team player mindset * Flexible with work hours * Willing to work extended shifts if projects require * Comfortable working in a fast-paced data center environment Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Sandston, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
