PRIMARY PURPOSE


CNA is hiring for the role of Contractor Assistant Special Security Officer (ASSO). The Contractor ASSO is part of the Chief Information Office (CIO) and assists in managing and implementing security programs, procedures, and controls for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) operations and serves as assistant and primary backup to CNA's Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) in their absence.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND / OR DUTIES



  1. Assist CSSO in analyzing, interpreting, and implementing security related policies, procedures, methods, requirements, practices, deliverables and/or directives; assist in writing and reviewing security plans, and identifying and conducting assessments, audits, and inspections.
  2. Serve as a general resource to employees, on SCI related matters in accordance with CNA, Navy, DoD and IC directives, instructions, and requirements.
  3. Assist CSSO in the maintenance of SCI security and oversight of daily SCIF operations.
  4. Open/close SCIF in coordination with CSSO.
  5. Maintain applicable SCI directives, regulations, manuals, and guidelines.
  6. Maintain SCIF calendar.
  7. Facilitate SCI Video Teleconferences (VTCs).
  8. Review and submit Contractor Nomination Letters (CNLs).
  9. Provide regular updates on status of CNLs.
  10. Review and submit SF86Cs.
  11. Pass SCI clearances for CNA personnel.
  12. Confirm receipt of SCI clearances and accesses for visitors to CNA.
  13. Review Defense Information Security System (DISS) listings of all CNA personnel regularly to ensure accuracy.
  14. Serve as alternate Communications Security (COMSEC) custodian.
  15. Conduct SCI personnel, information, physical, and technical security in accordance with applicable guidance.
  16. Provide continuing security education training and awareness (SETA) to all SCI-cleared and program-briefed individuals.
  17. Track status of staff compliance with required training.
  18. Provide support during site assist visits (SAVs) conducted by the government.
  19. Liaison with CNA non-SCI security personnel, as required.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS


1. Education: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience required.



2. Experience: Minimum of 6 years of related security experience in government and/or contractor SCIF. Experience in physical and facilities security program management to include accreditation policies and processes for SCIF.



3. Skills: Ability to work as part of a security team that can respond rapidly to the needs of CNA staff and clients. Ability to work effectively with staffs at other Department of Navy (DON) and Department of Defense (DOD) commands. Strong understanding and working knowledge of: Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs); Director Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs); National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM); DOD personnel and information security regulations; Information systems security program requirements; Defense Information Security System (DISS) and Scattered Castles databases. Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). Effective written and oral communications skills to support interaction with all levels of personnel; with a "customer service" mindset and strong interpersonal skills.



4. Clearance: Must have active top secret security clearance and SCI eligibility upon hire. Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements for SCI access. Ability to support staff SCI work with occasional extended workday or weekend hours. Ability to lift/push/pull at least 30 lbs.



5. This position is not eligible for telecommuting or hybrid work arrangements. Occasional flexible work schedule may be possible at the discretion of the Supervisor.
