Product and Engineering Release Manager Location: Remote, USA Compensation: $120,000.00-$149,500.00 Benefits Offered: Vision, Medical, Life, Dental, 401K (Range applies to US candidates only) + Benefits/Variable Comp/Equity - Range may vary based on experience. Employment Type: Full-Time
Summary The Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving the execution of software releases across multiple product and engineering teams. Reporting to the Product and Engineering Operations Manager, this role ensures releases are delivered predictably, dependencies are actively managed, and release milestones are met with transparency and rigor. The Release Manager partners closely with Product, Engineering, Cloud Operations, and Commercialization teams to maintain accurate release schedules, assess delivery risks, and communicate release status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Own and manage end-to-end release planning and execution across multiple teams and initiatives.
- Build, maintain, and continuously update release plans, timelines, and integrated schedules.
- Actively manage cross-team, upstream, and downstream dependencies that impact release delivery.
- Own and govern changes to the release calendar, including impact assessment and stakeholder communication.
- Perform due diligence on release milestones, tracking whether milestones are met, missed, or at risk.
- Identify release risks early and drive mitigation plans in partnership with Product and Engineering leaders.
- Facilitate release readiness activities, including scope confirmation, dependency validation, and go/no-go discussions.
- Ensure alignment between roadmap commitments, delivery plans, and release schedules.
- Communicate release status, risks, and changes to stakeholders outside of Product and Engineering, including Commercialization, Support, and Customer-facing teams.
- Maintain accurate release documentation and artifacts in Jira and Confluence.
- Leverage data and metrics to assess release performance, predictability, and delivery trends.
- Support post-release reviews and retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner with the Product and Engineering Operations team to improve release processes, tooling, and reporting.
- Manage high priority initiatives as a project manager, including building project plans, tracking execution, managing risks and dependencies, and driving day today delivery in alignment with established release plans and processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to release planning, execution, and automation.
- Execute the posting of approved releases to the Solution Marketplace and support customer access provisioning for paid solutions in coordination with Commercialization and Operations teams.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in release management, program management, project management, or engineering operations in a software development environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex release schedules across multiple teams.
- Hands-on experience using Jira and Confluence for planning, tracking, and documentation.
- Proven ability to manage dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines in fast-paced environments.
- Experience communicating status and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience supporting enterprise or platform-scale software products.
- Experience with release management automation or tooling (e.g., CI/CD integrations, automated release reporting, deployment pipelines.)
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and scaled Agile delivery models.
- Experience working closely with Cloud Operations, SRE, or DevOps teams.
- Experience building and contributing to operational metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
- Exposure to go-to-market readiness, commercialization, or customer-facing release coordination.

- Ability to manage multiple concurrent releases with competing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use metrics to inform decisions and highlight risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex delivery information into clear, actionable updates for diverse audiences.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across Product, Engineering, and Operations.
- Comfortable operating in environments with ambiguity, change, and evolving priorities.
- Proficiency with documentation, reporting, and workflow tools. (Jira, Confluence, dashboards)
- Continuous improvement mindset with interest in automation and operational efficiency.
