PRIMARY PURPOSE


CNA is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their People Operations department. This person will work directly with the HR management team to deliver HR services to support CNA's business needs and ensure recruiting success throughout the organization. This position will also provide support in the areas of performance management, workforce and succession planning. Using effective and innovative strategies, the Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring CNA is hiring high quality talent. This will be achieved by establishing trusted partnerships with hiring managers and other stakeholders and through analyzing and reporting on recruiting goals and accomplishments.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND/OR DUTIES


1. Partner with Manager, Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to understand the business unit/division/department profile, goals, and talent requirements. Translate those business requirements into successful cost effective strategies and recruitment solutions. Follow-up with hiring managers to determine the effectiveness and status of recruiting plans for each position.



2. Pro-actively source qualified, active and passive candidates to fill vacancies and build an internal and external pipeline of talent through traditional and emerging recruiting channels, including: internal and external networks, posting ads, attending job fairs and industry events, and utilizing social media, job boards and online electronic resources.



3. Conduct recruitment outreach efforts to targeted community groups and applicants, and assess effectiveness of recruitment efforts. Make cold calls and be proactive to get to know candidates to build an active network and pipeline of qualified candidates.



4. Evaluate and screen candidates and prepare background profiles for evaluation. Schedule interviews with hiring managers and others as required, communicate interview feedback and facilitate final hiring decision.



5. Partner with the Recruitment Marketing Specialist on CNA's university relations program including developing relationships with universities and organizations and researching and implementing new ways to reach out to recent graduates (with a focus on Ph.D. and Master's candidates).



6. Actively and consistently utilize applicant tracking system (ATS) and other recruitment tracking tools to ensure timely and accurate documentation of applicant data throughout the process.



7. Report on recruiting program effectiveness and efficiency through metrics and analytics.



8. Work with Lead Recruiting Assistant and other HR colleagues to coordinate and provide logistical support for recruiting events and new hire onboarding process.



9. Build and foster strong partnerships and collaborative working relationships with HR Sourcer and Recruitment Marketing Specialist to ensure timely coordination of recruiting actions and deliverables.



10. Perform other special projects and duties as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS


1. Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources or related field required. PHR certification is a plus.



2. Experience: Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in professional level recruiting. Experience recruiting for positions within the government contracting arena is strongly preferred. Must also have experience using a variety of online recruitment tools and be a proficient user of applicant tracking systems.



3. Skills:



  • Must have demonstrated success in human resources and capability performing full life-cycle recruiting
  • Familiarity with recruitment industry trends/transformations, as well as an understanding of applicant-tracking systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers and handle multiple priorities in a deadline driven and multi-task oriented environment
  • Proven record of hiring and meeting goals
  • Ability to use quantitative skills to create reports and meaningful metrics to measure and track progress against recruiting goals
  • Experience conducting analysis within an analytical tool, such as Excel, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point (Access and SharePoint preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong organizational skills with demonstrated high standard of quality and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening and networking skills are essential
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong problem-solving and consultative skills with ability to be solutions-oriented.



4. Other:



  • Must be able to travel occasionally throughout the year to attend career fairs and other off-site recruiting events.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active security clearance preferred.



5. Remote/Hybrid Work Eligibility: This position is eligible for telecommuting or hybrid work arrangements at the discretion of the Supervisor. Employees may be required to work at CNA headquarters or other work locations resulting in changes to the scheduled telecommuting or hybrid work arrangements.
