Our client, a prominent organization dedicated to advancing healthcare, is partnering with Aquent to find a dedicated professional to join their team. This organization is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of their financial processes, directly impacting their ability to serve the community.

  • Be able to work on a W-2 basis. C2C or 1099 is not permitted for this position


We are seeking an individual who thrives on resolving complex challenges and making a tangible difference in the lives of patients. In this role, you will be at the forefront of patient financial interactions, ensuring clarity, fairness, and resolution for billing and account inquiries. Your expertise will directly contribute to patient satisfaction and the financial health of the organization, playing a crucial part in maintaining trust and accessibility to vital healthcare services. You'll be instrumental in navigating the intricacies of healthcare billing, transforming potential frustrations into positive experiences.

What You Will Do:



  • Perform or request necessary adjustments and contractual write-offs.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of healthcare billing procedures and payment practices across various payer types.
  • Resolve customer service inquiries related to benefits, eligibility, billing, payment issues, treatment authorizations, and explanation of benefits.
  • Proactively manage the collection of self-pay balances by engaging with patients and guarantors to arrange payment plans or resolve outstanding issues.
  • Conduct presumptive charity determinations as applicable, supporting patients in need.
  • Process bad debt request transfers when appropriate.
  • Ensure daily productivity standards are met for assigned accounts and accurately post all actions related to patient accounts.
  • Uphold a practical understanding of departmental policies and procedures.


Must-Have Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in a healthcare financial or customer service setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of government and non-government payer requirements, reimbursement rules, laws, and regulations governing billing and collection activities.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and medical coding standards, understanding how these drive reimbursement.
  • Strong understanding of customer service principles and telephone etiquette.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel).


Nice-to-Have Qualifications:



  • Experience with industry-standard professional billing software.
  • HFMA - Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification.


The target hiring compensation range for this role is $23.48 to $25.19 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location
