Job Description

In this role, you will identify bottlenecks and apply problem-solving methodologies to eliminate them, improving productivity, cycle time, and on-time delivery. You will provide support for capacity planning and loading at the Newport Beach Fab, while proposing, evaluating, and applying real-time production dispatch algorithms that adapt to changes in volume, timing, and product mix.

  • You can ensure capacities are clearly identified through thorough investigation and application of traditional engineering planning models and tools.
  • You can identify applicable operational metrics to accurately highlight concerns related to the performance of owned area to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • You can maintain inputs to capacity model - units per hours, availability and efficiency.
  • You are able to perform and assist in maintenance of capacity model.
  • You can perform cycle time modeling requiring a clear understanding of the facility loading and performance.
  • You can provide input into capacity metrics, utilization, availability and accurate loading.
  • You are able to balance the line through dispatching and bottleneck analysis.
  • You can perform impartial performance measurement.
  • You can identify and initiate projects to ensure the cycle time and capacity requirements are achieved through completion of identified action plans, such as tool install and process re-qualifications.
Job Requirements
  • B.S Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering or Computer Science degree required
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environement required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing and operations management techniques
  • Strong understanding of statistics, data analysis and problem solving methodologies
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Science (scheduling/dispatching, TOC, Lean, Push/Pull system, inventory management, capacity planning, etc.)
  • Experience in optimization, tool modeling and performance metrics
  • Knowledge of PROMIS, APF and RTD
