ChampionX has immediate and future hiring needs for a Production Team Leader in Freeport, TX to support site operations. What You Will Do:

  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of production associates to drive performance and engagement
  • Oversee day-to-day production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations
  • Provide skill-based instruction, coaching, and feedback while addressing personnel matters at the shift level
  • Ensure compliance with plant rules, policies, and safety standards; reinforce accountability across the team
  • Collaborate with the Technical Team to ensure all batches meet specifications, procedures, and documentation requirements
  • Clearly communicate shift objectives and align team performance with overall plant goals
  • Understand and communicate key performance metrics, ensuring team awareness and accountability
  • Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
  • Lead training and development progression for new and current employees
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Quality, Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics) to resolve production, service, and quality challenges
  • Support development of the site operations budget with a focus on continuous improvement of key performance metrics
  • Drive and promote Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
  • Review procedures and documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to SOPs and Good Documentation Practices
  • Coordinate operational improvement and redesign projects to meet performance targets and customer needs
  • Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis to resolve safety, quality, and service issues
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma / GED with 4 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, or related environment
  • 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Strong leadership and team development experience
  • Immigration sponsorship not offered for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree, Process Technology Degree, or equivalent
  • Experience with SAP, MS Access, and Microsoft Excel
  • Exposure to Continuous Improvement and/or Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, think critically, and collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to drive accountability, improve processes, and lead change initiatives

Physical Demands:

  • May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry materials as needed in a plant environment
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing setting, including standing, walking, and interacting with equipment
  • Role may be subject to safety requirements and site-specific protocols
